Congress Should Be Held Accountable for the West's Disastrous Defeat in Ukraine.
The West has just sustained a disastrous defeat in Ukraine.
The Senate and Congressional twits on the secret oversight committees who authorized sending snipers into Ukraine in the first place should be investigated and removed from office. All their fat pensions and benefits should be stripped. They should be held accountable - any and all senators and congresspeople who approved and or funded this - should be held accountable for all the blood they now have on their hands.
This carpetbagger Jewish monstrosity serving as Ukraine president did not even try to negotiate safety for the 7,000 Ukraine troops trapped by Novorussia so they were all captured or wiped out. Why would any Ukraine patriot fight to the death under this duplicitous betraying president?
Do not let the controlled media cover this up and remember it is now time to stop protecting and coddling the princelings and princesses in Congress who hold themselves above Social Security, which they have decimated, above Obamacare. These armchair generals sitting in padded seats while they send people to death no longer deserve to retire on full salary pensions. They are the nitwits who have destroyed our finances and our integrity as a nation.

So many Somali and other foreigners have crowded into subsidized housing that in the Twin Cities only 68,000 people are applying for the 1,500 new affordable housing spots available.
The Minneapolis School District is a disaster. Los Angeles schools - also packed with foreigners - are a disaster. Chicago is a disaster and has a Democratic mayor who allegedly donated his home to a Jewish school so he could avoid city taxes. Where ever open border diversity has been rammed down our throats the schools and communities are a disaster.
Our bridges and highways are crumbling - but Congress still expends money and lives destroying places overseas, and then issuing fat cat contract to rebuild some of the foreign wreckage.
The wants and needs within the U S go on and on.
The bankrupt U S Treasury needs to be replenished. Too much of our work force is idle and needs to be put back to work and taken off food stamps and welfare.
And all these twits hiding behind their secret appointments and security clearances and phony Pentagon inside information could think about was military adventure in Ukraine.
I don't care if Ukraine is an ancestral homeland of the modern Jews - the only apparent motivation for this stupid war declared by lapdog Congress. Come up with the signed deeds that prove their homeland is in Ukraine instead of Israel, Birobidzhan, Hollywood or New York. They do not need any more homelands. They do not need one. They are just a religion. And the U S should stop subsidizing their current hideout.
These secret Congressional oversight twits seem to have no intelligence. Did they not remember when the dual citizen Jewish warlord began killing people and knocking down buildings in a Georgian province that Russia took only five days to kick him out? They had no idea Russia would simply take a few days and secure its base on Crimea?

Journalism is Too Institutional
Think tanks such as Pew and Brookings have looked at “institutional journalism” amid the chaotic changes wrought by new technology and the destruction of earlier advertising models that dedicated more money to print publications.
However, as a now retired journalist I observe another criticism is that journalism is “too institutional.”
When I say journalism is too institutional I do not mean the deference given to the “Gray Lady,” the New York Times, or the concentration of mainstream journalism under a few corporate control points.
I am referring to the concentration and tight control of intellectual content itself.
Back in the 1980s I believe it was Randy Hatch and Bryan Mertz who returned from a conference and informed the staff of the Ogden Standard Examiner it was too institutional. That was what they had gleaned from the conference.
In this case, it meant newspapers rely too much on official handouts and government sources for news articles.
Too often journalists do wait for the press release or only talk to official sources for “conformation”.
Journalists at the higher levels are caught up in this and their colleagues seem oblivious.
A few years ago when a Denver Associated Press bureau chief retired he was asked for the highlight of his career. His response, reported \ in one of the then two major Denver dailies, was the time the reporter attended a conference in Europe.
On Sunday he was leaving and was offered a ride by Pierre Salinger. During the drive Salinger gifted the newsman with a press release that was going to be distributed. At the airport, the reporter recalls rushing to a pay phone and regurgitating - not his word of course - that press release to the world 15 minutes ahead of any other newsman.
That was a major highlight of his career. Regurgitating a press handout before anyone else.
As for me, I recall when the city of Clearfield, Utah was warring over a proposed garbage incineration project in a neighborhood bordering Hill Air Force Base. Smith Barney, the investment banker, wanted it. The engineering firm wanted it. A Davis County Commission chairman who was also an LDS prophet had a vision it would be built. All but one of the mayors in the county supported it; I heard the hold out was taken to the woodshed by the others.
But residents along the road leading to the proposed burn plant opposed it. An appointed official on the state’s air quality control commission said during a meeting the placement site was a “nutty idea.”
I reported both sides, often in advance because the community was in the battleground suburban area served by two daily papers in Salt Lake City as well as the one in Ogden, where I worked.
One of my career highlights was when the Clearfield mayor stormed into the council meeting room and threw that evening’s edition of the Standard-Examiner on the podium and shouted he was “sick and tired” of reading about that night’s meeting before it happened.
The emotional atmosphere was explosive surrounding this issue. And my reporting simply reflected that.
Well, looking back, I suppose I was too aggressive in seeking out both sides to find out what they planned to say. Instead of just waiting for the meeting to guide the flow of information.
But on the other hand….that is reporting. Full reporting of all aspects of an issue and allowing the public to decide.
The burn plant eventually was built. It is still in business.
I personally believe the county could have found a cheaper solution with a more conventional landfill, but proponents of the burn plant saw the county as more landlocked and lacking open space similar to big cities in the east which had already incorporated the technology.
But the Ogden newspaper in that moment was doing what it was supposed to do, going beyond the officials and their intentions and seeking out what others thought and knew about the same subject.
Today, newspapers seem more neutered. Their ownership loves to go along and get along with the ruling elites. To be with them, to be among them, to be one of them.
But the print newspaper empires are shadows of what they once were.
We can now all see a wasteland of print journalism, which seems to have been reduced to rubble in places due to capitalism constantly destroying and reinventing itself.
I see a wasteland beyond that. A nation that is now engulfed in increasing racial strife, riots, hatred and growing poverty even as the fortunately employed grow ever richer.
A major reason is because a politically correct, submissive press no longer seeks out the opposing ideas. Logic no longer prevails. Carefully crafted thought patterns are successfully used to shape mass consciousness.
Thus, we have a brainwashed majority now whose concepts and beliefs serve what the highest powers want them to believe.
The other day I watched George Knapp, a mainstream award winning reporter for a Las Vegas television station, recall how he was the first reporter to break the existence of Area 51 in Nevada. Since then, the phrase Area 51 has penetrated deeply into the American consciousness. It became a prime example of government secrecy, cover up and disinformation.
Yet, how was Knapp treated?
He was made fun of by other news institutions such as the Las Vegas Review Journal.
He was a UFO “nut” in cartoons.
And yet, he was right. He was correct. His reporting - though opposite of the official press release handouts which declared the secret base did not exist - proved true in the end.
But attacks on Knapp makes the media look bad. Controlled. Institutional.
Far beyond Area 51, in recent years their have been what are obvious contrived “open air rituals” to shape mass consciousness.
One example was the stampeding of the nation into two “misguided wars” to use the phraseology of outgoing U S Senator Mark Udall.
This was only made possible because information opposing the press handouts has been systematically excluded from the news.
Editors, not wanting to lose a prized job on a daily paper, will not risk offending owners, readers, the secret government.
Reporters will not risk losing their prized reporting jobs. Especially with no where else to go these days.
So open debate has suffered.
In October 2013 CBS news reported the Los Angeles Times will not allow any information to be printed that counters the concept of global warming.
People who dare ask what caused the ice sheets to melt over North America 20,000 years ahead of fossil fuel burning, are branded as “climate deniers”.
The L A Times cited a committee of “top scien
tists” for their decision to end the debate after the committee said it was “95 percent” certain man has caused climate change.
And yet if the L A Times editors would read Bill Bryson’s book on the history of nearly everything, they would see that for the past few hundred years the orthodoxy of scientific field after scientific field has repeatedly had to capitulate and abandon their proclaimed “scientific certainties” in the face of ongoing evidence by persecuted dissidents denied tenure who maintained open minds.
There are no absolutes anymore.
If journalism was less institutional, less reliant on press handouts from committees… it might be functional and more relevant again.
And it truly would be morning in America again.

A Sensible Plan to Reform Congress Now
Pick a poll, any poll.
Odds are the majority will complain the United States is “going down the wrong path.”
And complaining about the messed up politicians is like complaining about the weather. “You can’t do anything about it!”
Or can you?
Charles R. Hooper thinks you can do something about it. Not the weather, but the messed up state of affairs in the United States.
His book “The Next American Revolution: How to Demand Congressional Reform Now” outlines a sensible plan to reform an out of control government that could doom the republic to failure.
Hooper points out Congress seems to listen to itself first. Not the people.
It also listens to money. The money thrown at it by self interests who have placed themselves above the common good.
He calls for restoring the representational aspects of government. A good start, Hooper argues, is to limit the terms of service in Congress. Let people serve a few years in government, and then go back among the public to live under the laws and regulations enacted by government.
We now have a Congress that passed the Affordable Care Act - but exempted itself from the act. It passed and oversees Social Security - but awards itself lavish pensions and benefits instead of applying Social Security to itself after leaving government. This reviewer adds Congress is so corrupt it even exempts itself from insider trading enforcement.
Hooper also believes the contentious two-party monopoly that again people complain about can be fixed with a simple solution. He suggests reducing the number of Congressional districts within states and then allowing people to stand election for the same overall number of House seats. The difference is that the winners would be determined by cumulative voting. In other words, if 26 people sought to win say 12 seats within just three districts within a state, the winners would be the top four vote getters in each district. Much less gerrymandering to preserve seats for one party or the other. It also allows parties with alternative views a chance to have more say in government.
These are just some of the gems of thought in Hooper’s 84-page book (plus a brief epilogue, the U S Constitution and an index.
But then Hooper becomes “controversial” because of how he suggests reform should come about. Hooper says an amendment convention to consider these reforms should be held.
Researching history, Hooper points out all 50 states at one time or another in the past two centuries have called for an amendment convention as outlined in Article V of the Constitution.
But The Congress, Hooper argues, has acted unconstitutionally by failing to respond to these calls for reform amendments.
Many of us have already heard the reasons against common people convening to suggest reforms (which Congress would have to vote on to approve).
Fear mongers say an Article V convention would spin out of control and destroy everything.
How?
Hooper points out an Article V convention would simply suggest reforms to make government more workable and honest and representative.
The real threat here is not to the republic, if terms were limited and voting became more representatives and if the polarizing two party monopoly was weakened.
The real threat is to Congressional representatives who think their government job should be for life (presumably because they have the experience to understand things better. But that is not working out, the reviewer notes.)
Term limits and cumulative voting also threatens lobbyists and arm twisters who get paid a lot of money to make Congress do its will and not that of the people.
Another crucial piece of reform is to greatly restrict if not eliminate campaign contributions.
And this sends up a howl from the television industry, which gorges on attack ads every two years.
And it threatens the concept that faceless corporations are like people.
Except that while corporations and foreign lobbies can use their money to get the U S into a war, the corporations and foreign interests do not die on the battlefields. American citizens do.
Time to make our foreign affairs truly accountable.
It is now a good idea to blow away the smoke and shatter the mirrors. And take a real good look at how bad American government now is. How far off course it has gone since the 1960s.

Are Current Debt Woes a Death Knell?
Today, David Stockman's latest essay is titled:
"Peak Debt - Why The Keynesian Money Printers Are Done"

Deep into his essay Stockman writes:
"Self evidently, all the major economies are saturated with debt."
I would point out that Western civilization is rooted in the Roman universal church established by the Emperor Constantine. The universal church he created became a repository of Roman values and ambitions. When Rome collapsed, the church carried the seeds of ancient Rome for centuries until they could again flourish.
Usury was always suppressed by the Roman church - though allowed to be practiced by non Christians within its empire. More than three dozen times the usury licensees would eventually be seized by the Roman church after substantial amounts of property had been accumulated by the usury lenders through foreclosure. The church would take over the properties for itself. The non-Christian usury agents would be allowed to retain seed funds and sent on to a new location to do it again. This happened over and over.
About 500 years ago bans on usury for both Christian and non-Christian lenders were relaxed...and interest rates far above the imposed limit of 4 percent have been the rule of the day ever since. Usury has been a free for all ...to be enjoyed by the most rugged and ruthless and alert.
Fractional banking and fiat money - boosted by the tremendous energy expansion from exploitation of petroleum and natural gas - have resulted in an explosive expansion of the economy, far above the traditional rural agricultural foundation supporting a few cultural and economic centers.
But to work usury lending rates demand an ever increasing pool of borrowers plus inflation so that borrowers have a sort of chance to keep up.
This incredible economic and population expansion the past few centuries has caused considerable environmental damage and for a number of additional reasons that include economic and moral decline, the Western birth rate is now collapsing. (The environmental damage is accelerating as India and China adapt Western consumerism and resource development. Carbon emissions are just one of the signs, and by the way, the global climate is still driven more by the sun, orbital angles and cosmic dust and volcanic eruptions. Carbon emissions should be viewed as environmental damage.)
Those living under Sharia law, while not enjoying the illusory wealth of the West, have a still very high birth rate. The Average Muslim woman has six children. Western banks and facilitators have opened the floodgates to foreigners far and wide to come in and provide labor and a base for usury lending... Visit U S cities and you will see those living under Sharia law elsewhere - along with the oppressed indigenous underclass of Mexico - are crowding out locals for subsidized housing and related welfare supplements. It is unknown by me how much they are adding to the commercial lending base.
Stockman is describing what appears to be the beginning death spasms of the West...and its 500 year old Western usury lending culture will likely collapse and be absorbed by the Sharia culture, now 1,400 years old and still explosively growing. Population flow charts should be reflecting this in coming years.
There has been no attempt to contain Sharia culture and force it to deal with its own expansionist population policy...instead, it is being allowed to spill into the West... and the rest of the emerging story will eventually become history.
There is no leadership emerging to save the West with common sense ideas. Pat Buchanan and Ron Paul have been ignored...and suppressed as marginal.

Utah UFO's of long ago.....
At Saturday’s Mufon meeting in Minnesota I was bored and almost napping from the droning monotone voice of Linda Moulton Howe, producer of the film Alien Harvest. But after an hour I snapped awake as she suddenly got into her probe of a Palo Alto lab involved in totalitarian secretive black op research into interstellar propulsion and other related subjects.
She also touched on the more recent conclusions that the mysterious Bentwater Rendlesham Forest UFO sightings in England the day after Christmas 1980 were time travelers from the future gathering DNA from humans to repair something that has gone terribly wrong in the future. But that topic was covered in a book review a month or so earlier.
Anyway, the meeting brought to mind three UFO sightings I had in Utah back in the ‘60s and ‘70s..
1) Zanna was washing dishes at the sink at our home in Sandy in the 1970s (same hometown for the mythical Big Love family). I stepped out on the deck which overlooked I think it was called Dry Creek Canyon which bordered our backyard. Looking to the east above Big Cottonwood Canyon, I saw a white cloud. Five or six small white lights flew into that cloud from the north and did not emerge from the other side. After a few minutes some more small white lights did fly out of the cloud, heading south. The cloud appeared to be cloaking a possible mother craft. The cloud remained stationary at that spot for some time..
2) Twice while out chasing stories for the Salt Lake Tribune when I was night police reporter in the late ‘60s, I saw a large white glowing light descending from the east at about a 45 degree angle and disappear behind the foothills just north of the cities. In those days there were no homes on that hillside and I hiked them often, walking along ancient game trails and Indian paths. The first time I was out of my car and saw the hill back

One Sunday my brother and I drove there and because a large LDS picnic was underway, we walked over to where a low chain or rope blocked access to a footpath leading from the park and alongside the mountain overlooking the Salt Lake Valley. A sign said no trespassing. Not being Mormon and being counterculture we stepped over the barrier and walked along the path. After several minutes we stopped. We could clearly hear machinery in the ground underneath us. There are storage vaults in the granite mountains just east of Salt Lake City, but I believe the mountain we were on is an alluvial deposit, unless there is a more solid rock reef under the looser covering.
3) One night I drove my father to a store just off 13th East at Sugarhouse Park, a mostly commercial area just south of 21st South. While he was inside buying cigarettes, the top of my Fiat Spyder was down and settled back to enjoy the warm summer evening. I was surprised to see a large black object with no lights flying over 13th East just to the east of me. Though it had no lights, you could see a shape passing almost overhead because of the bright lights in the large parking lot. It was traveling maybe 40 to 60 miles an hour and was completely silent. I thought it was a plane going down. When my father returned I am sure he thought I was crazy as I drove off and turned north onto 13th and sped along looking for a plane crash. I remember the dark object and it was about 100 to 200 feet above the road. But I cannot say if it was triangular shaped or oval. This would have been in the late 1960s or early 1970s.

Liberals Have a Split Personality On Global Warming
While humans weren't around in big numbers to trigger the Big Melt Off that destroyed the miles thick ice cap over North America 20,000 years ago, liberals are blaming the surging human population for a perceived but debatable global warming episode now underway.
A man gave a talk on over population and global warming just the other day before a Critical Thinkers Club in St. Paul, MN.
I clearly recall two generations of American women being told to have only two children because resources are finite and have to be conserved. The women overall complied and the birth rate fell to about replacement level.
So why are liberals working so hard to bring people from high birth rate countries into the United States...where their surging numbers are using the natural resources that we were supposed to conserve for future generations?
The numbers are in. Mexican women have a higher birth rate in the U S than back in their native Mexico which reportedly has the highest per capital number of millionaires in the world, and those millionaires refuse to tax themselves and provide opportunity to their Indian blooded citizens. Instead, they deport them northward for U S liberals to take care of.
Muslim women who are married each give birth to six children on average. Again, they are being welcomed warmly into the U S. In the Twin Cities area they are filling apartment complexes set aside for affordable housing for American Americans originally.
Environmentalist Frosty Woolridge of Colorado has been shouting about the harm being done to the U S environment and natural resources by the swarming numbers of illegal immigrants. And yet even tree hugging liberals - showing their inconsistent mindset - turn a deaf ear to Frosty.
I don't count liberals as friends of the U S environmental resources. And by moving high birth rate migrants into northern latitudes, to support their higher birth rates, they are obviously contributing to warming the environment - by their own logic.
In his book The Hidden West, Rob Schultheis wrote how the big octopus Los Angeles reached out and sucked the water out of lakes and rivers and wetlands up to a thousand miles away in the Great Basin.
Now that the Southwest is again gripped in a predictable drought, that huge sprawling urban area - made much more populated by the immigrants the liberals recruited - the city has no where to turn but the ocean. And the current drought is now having a much more serious impact because millions of illegal immigrants were unleashed upon the Southwest landscape.
Humans are locusts. We can and do destroy our landscape. So why do liberals want more and more locusts?
Why don't the liberals move to the Mideast...to Central America...to all the places where the birth rate is surging out of control. And take their message to what is the very source of global warming.
Bring this up to most liberals and watch them go emotional. Not logical.
Thus their split personality.
Personally, I think the sun and other factors control temperatures more than people do, except in urban areas where development does raise temperatures. But without a doubt our surging population is having serious environmental impacts.

Immigration should be reversed, not reformed....
My letter to Senators Bennett and Udall today.
Though a Democrat, I am a moderately conservative one who loves his country. Passage of the bill to block Homeland Security from delaying deportation of illegal immigrants was a good move. The U S. is now almost bankrupt from fighting two phony misguided wars that were triggered when - according to U S intel and military agents - foreigners murdered 3,000 Americans by bringing down a high rise office complex of three or more buildings with burning jet fuel. (I am not making up the burning jet fuel causing the towers demolition, that is the official report by intel and military elites now retiring on fat pensions for their duplicity..)
That one act of alleged foreign savagery should have been enough to seal the borders and stop giving anyone in the world free passage into the country.
So many illegals are in our prisons, so many good lawmen have been killed by these foreign invaders. I just watched the movie Savages, which again details the brutal criminal behavior of Mexican criminals - which our open borders allow into our country. Along with the Russian mobsters who came into Chicago after the Justice Dept. rounded up the Italian mobsters.
Enough is enough. We have tens of millions of unemployed Americans to put back to work. We don't need any more cheap labor. Silicon Valley can go without foreign whiz nerds.
The total lack of border security did not screen out who could and could not get in. Now, you in Congress are demanding all Americans lose their freedom and Constitutional rights because anyone was allowed in. Citizenship is not the answer. Illegals are home invaders and they have and are denying us the use of our property.

On our continent the real racism originates in Marxist Mexico, which has the highest per capita number of millionaires in the world. The blue dog socialists refuse to tax themselves to create healthcare and opportunity for Indian blooded Mexicans and are instead deporting them to the US.
This mindless charade has gone on long enough. Let the foreigners dream of a new future where they come from - and make these foreign leaders do the responsible thing and take care of their own.

Hagel nomination consistent with what is going on
When the L A Times ran a story about Hagel being nominated for Secretary of Defense and how people were already shrieking at his views on Israel and Iran, I submitted to the Times an online background story so the clueless media at least is shown what is going on ... of course these types of comments quickly disappear...

This story accurately reflects one phase of what the 2012 presidential election was all about. While some viewed the candidates as just two shades of darkness, Obama was the paler shade for those who agree with the covert attempts to distance the U S from Israel. Foreign Policy Journal got from the CIA a study supposedly funded by 16 intel agencies that was titled A Post Israel Mideast Policy. General Ramsey told the Air Force Chiefs of Staff - just as Petraeus told the Joint Chiefs of Staff - Israeli interests and U S interests do not necessarily coincide. In October Henry Kissinger was reported in the New York Post saying Israel will not exist in ten years.
Also in October we saw Netanyahu throwing a tantrum because Obama would not see him and receive orders as previous presidential seeking candidates have routinely done as a ritual right of passage.
I for one would like to see the U S follow a more rational foreign policy that is good for the U S and the western world.
Hagel's nomination - and the screaming that is already reacting to it - is further evidence of this truly needed shift as the U S emerges from Israeli domination.
The entire puzzle was never put together by the media, but the individual elements were all found on the Internet, here and there, for the cognescenti. If this plays out, I assume Israelis will just be moved to the U S at our expense.

Lights Out for Knight
This is surreal.
Knight Capital Group has a failure with its computerized trading program and suddenly loses more than $400 million dollars in a few minutes....or hours.
Anyway, so now they are almost immediately talking about filing for bankruptcy and liquidating assets.
MF Global fails, money missing. Peregrine Financial fails, money missing.
Knight Trading suddenly says it has $400 million missing and can't get it back. Apparently creditors also according to Bloomberg canceled credit lines, the life blood of Wall Street traders who hold positions for minutes sometimes, or an hour, but occasionally have to hold something for a month to work it out. Bloomberg referred to a lack of trust by the traders who use Knight to settle trades.
What if some Knight managers rigged this thing to divert the hundreds of millions to them....then claimed a failure and liquidated. Reuniting with their money placed in overseas accounts. What if a dark shadowy power told them to do this or they would be exposed for something they have done and want hidden. What if a shadowy power said do this or you will be killed....everyone knows the Mossad has no constraints. Nor the drug running CIA. What if some savvy IT people engineered this from the inside and the money went to them.
What if a competing Wall Street entity covetous of Knight’s business plotted to destroy it?
What if the IT wizards just accidentally built some mistakes into their sophisticated logarithms. These trades happen so fast there is no time for a failsafe switch. When the gyrations started happening no one at first knew where the problem was. Knight certainly did not have a doomsday button to stop trading.
If all these trades in supposedly hundreds of stocks were a mistake and bad it would be easy to track them and cancel them. Isn't everything tracked? Why was this not done? Were the trades linked to derivatives that are unregulated?
Last year I had a buy order for a European stock at five dollars a share or lower when it was trading above that level. The order was good for a month I think. ....and TD Ameritrade's program dropped down and sold me the stock for $4.25, a bargain for me....but they followed up and said it was a mistake and canceled the order. So why is Knight making good on its wrong order placement? Are the counterparties too big to offend?
Either this proves the financial system is too big to manage and needs to get broken up....or people are just looting the system under a variety of schemes.
TD Ameritrade was quick to claim a mistake and took way my good fortune. But Knight was not able to do this too?
Knight, by the way, handles about one sixth of all trades on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq and another platform, so it was a sizeable operation and important component of daily transactions. But TD Ameritrade places a lot of orders every day too as a large discount broker.
This also proves too that stocks and bonds are traded way too often. Warren Buffet has said that all stocks bought and sold should merit a surtax if they are not held for a month or more. That would slow the trading. And if U S Treasury bond investors would stop flipping their bonds every few minutes that would slow trading to a more sensible pace too. In fact, Buffet was a member of Salomon’s board when the U S Treasury accused it of buying more than a hundred percent of one bond issue, well over the 30 percent legal limit then in place. One rogue trader was blamed, in a culture that allowed it. Buffet cleaned house, using the $400 million he had at risk in the company, which ended up phasing out anyway eventually.
A one million dollar U S Treasury bond, issued for debt spending by the U S, will trade over and over every few minutes...which is how these huge chains of derivatives get built up based on a very tiny underlying asset. This trading, which is gambling in some respects, is done over and over to chisel a few dollars from a large million dollar bond, much like coin clipping in the middle ages.
Martin Mayer's book Nightmare on Wall Street, about the illegal trading in U S Treasury bonds by Salomon Brothers was written about 20 years ago. Clearly, Congress did not read the book. These financial wizards on Wall Street are always gaming the system. When they are not gaming they are having sudden losses from developing games they don't understand but implement anyway.. Arbitrage games like issuing a bond in British pounds but redeeming them in Mexican pesos that are priced in French francs that have been indexed with Brazilian oil prices. Things like that. Things that don't have to be so complicated in the first place. The Solomon traders were always coming up with derivative schemes for simple bonds and dumping them on supposedly sophisticated money managers...and Solomon could not understand why the customers would do it.
There have been so many large financial failure of late, including Madoff of course, the Congress and White House is clearly failing their oversight responsibilities, but we know that from their going along with abolishing Glass - Steagal, letting the SEC ban the uptick rule on short sales just months before the meltdown of 2008, total failure of regulation at the CFTC and SEC. Totally inept management by the Federal Reserve Bank, which creates booms and busts artificially.
The free markets mantra is totally discredited. Humankind does not have a moral compass yet to self manage freedom. No matter what the free marketers say.
Congress obviously can’t oversee the country’s financial system. The administrative branch’s regulators can’t regulate it.
Where is the modern Andrew Jackson, who killed the central bank of his day: Where is the Teddy Roosevelt, who busted up the trusts of his day?
It is apparent American business enterprises are too big to manage - from Lehman Brothers and Solomon, to MF Global and Peregrine Financial and now Knight Trading.
The free marketers say that’s okay. They should go under for bad management or mistakes or illegal behavior. But in 2008 the Congress and White House then in power said too big banks and corporations should be given welfare…at any price. The perps had free markets every step of the way, until their bad bets were too big to pay off.
Bad call.
Too damn much energy and brainpower is being spent on financials, financial instruments, and not enough energy and brainpower in just producing practical goods and services in the everyday world.

Reinstate Glass Steagall...and more
A White Paper was produced during the Lyndon Johnson years that outlined the need for a secure nation. An important component was a strong national economy.
What do we have now? Wreckage. Absolute economic wreckage.
This morning on Bloomberg TV a banker with Jefferies & Co. said there is a strong need to reinstate the Glass Steagall Act. Whenever banks are allowed to be stock tradings the result is disaster. He said the 37 page Glass Steagall Act blocked Wall Street from wrecking America. But Congress cancelled Glass-Steagall and the result was disaster once more. The Jefferies banker said Glass Steagall should be restored - but he predicted it would not.
On the media we are seeing that Congress won't stand up to Jamie Dimon. The problem is that Congress has taken bribes from the banksters in the form of the contributions they must have to run these obscenely expensive campaigns.
Why is Goldman Sachs allowed to place a black box that monitors all incoming orders and allows it proprietary trading rights? Why are Goldman Sachs agents moving back and forth through the revolving door of government when they can't even run their own company successfully - other than taking 90 percent of the profits off the table each year for themselves?
I have a benchmark stock, Norfolk Southern Railroad.
In the past ten years the value of Norfolk Southern has risen from $21 a share to $69.
Goldman Sachs has risen from $69 to a measly $94.
Anyone with common sense can see that the managers of a clunky railroad know how to service stockholders, customers and the wider economy far better than the rapacious thieves at Goldman Sachs.
It is common sense to reinstate Glass Steagall at once.
Yesterday an older woman who is not a political activist at all said she is dismayed at how badly our country is being run. She said both political parties are inept. She does not even know how bad it really is, but she has a sense, along with most of America, that our nation is being run by buffoons.
These buffons have allowed a foreign nation to infiltrate its military and intel, terrorize senators and representatives into cowering subservients, allowed its money grubbing ex homeland leader to irradiate and manhandle citizens at our own airports, disrupt our traditional freedoms, bankrupt our national treasury through several misguided wars.
In fact, how did the Clinton surpluses turn into economic austerity disaster just from fighting two Third World countries that could not build an aircraft carrier or put a satellite into low orbit?
We need some real laws. We need to ban Goldman Sachs and all investment and community bankers from government. They could not run their own businesses without bailouts.
We need to reinstate Glass Steagall.
We need to purge the government of those foreign agents and dual loyalists who know have you by the throat.
Any country that attacks our battle ship USS Liberty and kills 31 of our sailors is not an ally in any way shape or form.
We need to block the Council on Foreign Relations from supply government leadership and bureaucrats because two thirds of its membership represents only 2 percent of our national makeup. Again, we are drawing too much leadership from much too narrow a base.
That is why that older lady can sense something is wrong.
America is no longer America.
Get back to America. Purge the foreign contamination, re-regulate with Glass - Steagall, replace those obnoxious radiation death machines with trained explosives sniffing dogs, practice real diversity and stop handing the top jobs to just one narrow minded, egocentric tribe with a dangerously psychotic superiority complex.
And yes, bust up the too big banks. Just the other day Wells Fargo called me and an agressive lady tried to sell me insurance. We saved the banks so they could sell insurance? We already had insurance companies galore.
Stop glorifying these pscyhopathic egos on Wall Street and turn to the railroads and any other industry that is building wealth despite the efforts of the banks to destroy it.
This is all a matter of national security. The Johnson era White Paper had it right. A strong, functioning, productive fully employed economy is where it all starts.
We won't have much moral authority in telling the Muslim world what to do if we are creating Third World poverty within our own borders - and importing it from Mexico.
A report today says some railroads may have been fixing prices. That was caught and can be fixed.
What the combined Wall Street - Main Street banks have done was far worse - and won't be repaired.
But can be stopped from being repeated.

Get back to America. Purge the foreign contamination, re-regulate with Glass - Steagall, replace those obnoxious radiation death machines with trained explosives sniffing dogs, practice real diversity and stop handing the top jobs to just one narrow minded, egocentric tribe with a dangerously psychotic superiority complex.
And yes, bust up the too big banks. Just the other day Wells Fargo called me and an agressive lady tried to sell me insurance. We saved the banks so they could sell insurance? We already had insurance companies galore.
Stop glorifying these pscyhopathic egos on Wall Street and turn to the railroads and any other industry that is building wealth despite the efforts of the banks to destroy it.
This is all a matter of national security. The Johnson era White Paper had it right. A strong, functioning, productive fully employed economy is where it all starts.
We won't have much moral authority in telling the Muslim world what to do if we are creating Third World poverty within our own borders - and importing it from Mexico.
A report today says some railroads may have been fixing prices. That was caught and can be fixed.
What the combined Wall Street - Main Street banks have done was far worse - and won't be repaired.
But can be stopped from being repeated.

Remember, Plants Talk....
Atlin the musical dynasphere has a consciousness. I cannot say how it got there. Not sure if Dale Pond can…. Or did I miss that part in his sayings book?
But last summer I ran into one of Dale’s guests as he was literally leaving for the mountains after a brief stay at the Ponderosa in La Junta.
We met in the science lab on the bottom floor and I mentioned to him that machines have a consciousness too and I referred to the large drill press that was nearby. The largest machine in the lab I think. Other than Dale’s mind.
“Oh, you can sense it too?” he said, adding that he had felt it very strongly the night before. Actually, I had not specifically felt or experienced the consciousness in the drill press but I am thinking that even machines have a consciousness somehow related to the thought matrix that created them.
Anyway, I wanted this particular guest who is reported to have very strong intuitive skills to talk to my Nissan Sentra to see if it had any thoughts to convey to me since we have spent considerable time together tooling around the country the past few years. But the visitor was gone before I could bring up my request.
That all things seem to have a consciousness of some sort is affirmed in this month’s Science of Mind magazine.
Mark Waldman and Andrew Newberg, M. D., write a monthly science and spirituality column in Science of Mind.
They note that fungi can “lie, cheat, retaliate and withhold oxygen from a selfish mate.” I did not know that a fungus can have a mate. But that is irrelevant to the higher knowledge of what a fungus can do. Act almost human.
The two further point out that a plant such as a sagebrush when being eaten by a herbivore will send a cry for help from carnivores.
Waldman and Newberg say that a new field of study, plant neurobiology is finding out all kinds of fascinating facts about what we typically consider lowly plant life.
Plants can communicate through their roots and form relationships with microorganisms. Noting the hormonal and chemical qualities in plants, the writers say the language of plants is called biosemiotics. I just wrote that word and my spell check says it is wrong because the programmed consciousness within my computer is not familiar with that word.
“…the plants may actually exhibit a form of intelligence similar to animals,” they write.
So this somehow makes me think of vegetarians who can sometimes appear smug as they avoid eating meat. And yet they are eating something that is similar to animals in its ability to communicate and adapt…. And they are eating it alive if it is in its raw state.
This whole idea of consciousness being integral to everything is something to ponder.
And all of that consciousness of course at its center has a contact point with God, who is thinking all of us and all of it into existence.

The Mess We're In
Response to essay in The Daily Bell
I believe the ultimate solution is limited government and more rugged self reliance and allowing the mega bureaucracies and the mega corporations to dissolve slowly back into the dust.
Gene Logsdon's vision of a nation of cottage farmers with supplemental home businesses, people with patriotic ties to the land, is the vision I and a vast majority of us should have adopted decades ago... but did not.
So now we have this extracted nation of busted dreams and dependency and listlessness counter-pointed by still working stiffs who are in some instances desperately trying to hold their world together.
Yes, the idle rich with too much free time are callously and selfishly orchestrating the destruction of the western world so they can create their Talmudic - Brahmin Hindu vision of a world with their selected civil servant class at the top, doing their bidding of depopulating the world and creating space for the elites to then breed like rabbits and create their new world order.
But for now the only realistic bridge solution for this mess is to do what Jerry Brown is trying to do in California... . shrink the spending while extracting money back from the only ones who have it... .the very rich whose wealth is compounding obscenely and relentless as documented by options trader Phil Davis on Seeking Alpha. Davis is trying to do what Brown is trying to do... . pull money out of the elites' treasure chest back to his sharp and smart options trading followers.
The Republicans led by Treasury Secretary Paulson lost the moral ground of no more privately issued Federal Reserve fiat credit money expansion (to be billed to the citizens with interest) when they bailed out the criminal banksters, thus rewarding them for their good work in destabilizing the entire western world with derivatives losses and nonexistent mortgages and unsustainable loans.
The best bet is to try and muddle through for now with a mix of cuts and tax boosts and then finally look at reality and accept as totally unworkable the usury debt-based money system operated by private central banks who do not work for the common good but only for their enablers. And then it will be time to call off the Talmudic manipulated western war machine and go back to Libya and ask why it was that people there all owned homes with non interest mortgages and why did the west want to destroy common sense just to export our failed usury system and our misdirected energy system and our callous disregard for human life as evidenced by the cold collateral damage deaths in Iraq and the Mideast, which only further raises moral outrage against our drug-numbed peasants and its increasingly aloof, disconnected and alien leadership.
My Congressman told me by email he firmly supports Israel and its right to sustain its predatory superiority complex culture with support from a U S that has been predatorily dismantled and given an inferiority guilt trip for having once had a moral compass and a Divine purpose.
Israel, the central banks, growing western poverty and lack of morality, the derivatives collapse seeded by Jews Rubin, Summers and Greenspan when they lobbied Congress not to regulate them in 1998, the now dysfunctional impasse between a Jewish funded and manipulated Democratic party and a Jewish controlled and staffed (numbers disproportionate to their market share) Republican party are all just symptoms of what happens when a once united states gets diversified by a bunch of hegemonious conspirators working for their own self interest and not the public good.

A Mule for All Seasons
LAMAR, COLORADO -- Oris Reed of Lamar is a fourth generation mule man.
And he is a first generation professional writer.
The two talents have teamed up to produce several books about mules and his younger days in Colorado and Oregon.
Writing as Oris George, his latest book is Along the Back Roads of Yesterday.
It relates several humorous and serious incidents when he was a young boy. One of the funniest: a contrary mule stopped suddenly and young Oris was treated to hot steamy “mule apples”, a gift from the mule.
Oris was often in trouble, and one reason was his good friend, Henry, whom Oris describes as the Eddie Haskell of his day.
‘He would buy the bullets and get you to shoot them…” Oris recalled during a breakfast meeting at Java Jackie’s in Las Animas. “He never met a girl he did not fall in love with.”
Henry is a factor in several of the tales Oris weaves in his latest book.
Two earlier books, out of print, tell similar nostalgic tales from the past.
Oris enjoys writing nostalgia because “it takes the edge off hard times. Those were tough times.”
Tough times, indeed. There are some sad moments in the book when a fiasco by Oris leaves the family really tight on money. Sometimes the available cash was measured in coins. And it was troubled times for Oris, as he often seemed knee deep in trouble. Oris took the heat for wrecking the family truck….that Henry had been driving, of course.
His first years were spent on the family farm in Fremont County, Colorado.
“When I was five I had a mule I rode all over the country by myself.“
Then the family moved to Oregon, where the family farmed 1,600 acres with mule power. Oris now says every man should have two mules. But back then he drove up to 12 head at a time, working and showing.
He won many ribbons and admits to being “a show off in those days.”
Now, he seems more modest, but enjoy showing off his writing gift, which was discovered his senior year in high school.
Encouraged to enter a writing contest, he won district and state honors.
He wrote some articles for a newspaper, then got more serious when he was in the Army.
“I got to France….I wrote a column for a French newspaper about rural life in the U. S. It was translated. In time I got good enough to write in French.”
Back home, he continued to write articles and published a book. He also farmed, but got sick and quit farming and went to New Mexico.
There, he took a journalism class from famed mystery writer Tony Hillerman. They clashed
“He was teaching interpretative reporting, which I did not believe in and do not now.
“We fought until I left the class.”
A few years later he ran into Hillerman at a book signing.
“Do you know me?” the author asked.
“I told him I was writing a novel and he asked to read it. Can you imagine the writers who would give an arm to have him read their writing?
Hillerman gave a thumbs up..
“He told me not to go to school but to get with it.”
And Oris has. He has three more books in the works right now.
Though he has no mules now at his place near Lamar, Oris is still respected as a mule man and is a director of the North American Saddle Mule Association.
